77 years old lady came to us with complaints of left knee joint pain & difficulty in walking for the past 6 months. She had history of Bilateral Knee Replacement surgery (Gender, Zimmer implant) done in 2010. On clinical examination of left knee, previous surgical scar mark found to be normal, no joint effusion, valgus laxity was present as compared to right knee.
Infection markers were found to be normal. X-ray left knee showing asepctic loosening of tibial component with wear of poly as compared to old xray. Thus she planned for revision knee replacement surgery with Hinge knee prosthesis with stem component. These case required meticulous surgical planning to remove the previous prosthesis without bone loss. Thus needed special surgical revision instruments and inventory.
The post operative xray showed Rotating Hinge knee prosthesis. Patient is walking comfortably with walker and now has become pain free.
